USB-C

USB-C is a universal connector type used for charging, data transfer, and audio and video signals. It is fast and versatile, and has become the standard in many newer headphones, speakers, smartphones, and laptops.

What is USB-C?

USB-C is an upgrade from earlier USB standards such as Micro-USB and USB-A. What makes USB-C unique is that the connector can be inserted either way (reversible) and that it supports faster charging and higher data transfer speeds. USB-C can deliver up to 240W of power (with USB Power Delivery 3.1) and is also used to transmit audio and video, for example, to external displays via DisplayPort or HDMI.

In the world of headphones and speakers, USB-C is primarily used for charging and firmware updates. More wireless models are moving away from older connectors and adopting USB-C for faster and more reliable charging.

The Benefits of USB-C

With USB-C, you get one connector type for everything: fast charging, stable data transfer, and future-proof compatibility. You don’t have to worry about which way the connector faces, and you can often use the same charger for headphones, speakers, and your smartphone.
